Asset Preparation Guide

Our trading card templates are fully customizable, allowing you to personalize colors, layouts, icons, text, and images.

Once your purchase is complete, our team will contact you within 48 hours to gather the information needed to design and produce your trading cards. However, if you already know which aspects of the design you want to customize, feel free to start preparing your assets right away.

Asset Preparation

Below are recommendations on the assets you’ll need to prepare:

Images

We can work with any images you provide, whether they are taken on a cellphone or with professional equipment. Ensure that the subjects (people or products) you want to feature are clearly visible. Our team will enhance the quality during post-production.

Image Recommendations:

  • Use plain, one-color backgrounds: This helps us remove or replace the background as needed, regardless of whether the subject is a person or a product.
  • Take high-resolution photos: On a cellphone, adjust camera settings to the highest resolution. For professional cameras, shoot in RAW or CR3 format to capture fine details, making editing smoother and ensuring top-quality trading cards.
  • Consistent photo editing: If you’re editing photos yourself, ensure the color scheme is consistent across all images for a uniform look throughout the card deck. This is not necessary if you're only creating a single card design.
  • Ensure sufficient lighting: Good lighting significantly improves photo quality, making editing easier and producing better results.

Note: You don’t need to take new images. We can work with existing ones, as long as you provide the originals.

What to Avoid:

  • Poor lighting: Dark environments degrade image and print quality.
  • Reusing website images: Website images are often compressed and of lower quality, affecting the final printed product.
  • Reusing social media images: These images are also compressed, which impacts printing quality.
  • WhatsApp images: Like social media, WhatsApp compresses images when sharing, reducing their quality.
  • Low-resolution images: These may appear pixelated when printed.

Our team will provide a Google Drive folder for you to upload your assets. Alternatively, you can share them via email.

Text

While visuals are the main focus of a trading card, text serves as supporting information. Too much text can affect the card’s appearance, readability, and even its size (mini/poker/tarot/large).

Our recommendation: Be concise, clear, and straight to the point. This helps minimize text and emphasize visual design elements.

For multiple design variations, we suggest using a spreadsheet to organize your text information. You can create your own or wait for our team to provide a template.

Examples of text elements:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Product description and features
  • Event description

Colors

We recommend using our standard template colors, but if you want your cards to reflect your brand’s look and feel, provide us with your brand guidelines or corporate colors. We’ll create design variations based on them.

If you have specific color instructions, feel free to share those via email. Keep in mind that colors may look slightly different once printed. We’ll send you design previews to ensure the final result is as close to your preferences as possible.

Layout

Minor layout adjustments are allowed. We can help with changes such as removing text lines, altering text orientation, or cropping images.

If you need a completely new card layout, we can assist you for an additional fee.

Summary

Each card template is fully customizable. Once your order is placed, begin preparing your images, text, colors, and layout instructions. Our team will reach out with more details, but you can start the process independently.
